With our Vulcathene laboratory drainage system increasingly being specified for chemical waste applications within new laboratories for research facilities, hospitals, schools, universities and industrial environments, we have developed a new e-learning module to enhance customer knowledge of the system.
Purpose-designed and engineered for chemical waste applications, Vulcathene is the only system BBA approved for laboratory drainage. Offering the widest range of bench items including sinks, drip cups and anti-siphon and dilution recovery traps, Vulcathene enables the design and specification of a complete chemical drainage laboratory system.
The new module has been designed to offer new distribution customers, contractors and installers an overview of the Vulcathene system. The e-learning provides users with information on the multitude of applications where Vulcathene is used, its chemical resistance properties and how it compares with often mis-specified standard systems, in addition to outlining the wide range of bench items that make up the integrated system.
With safety being of paramount importance when disposing of chemical waste, the module also outlines the relevant standards and approvals that Vulcathene adheres to, including BBA Approval.
Commenting on the new e-learning, Simon Baugh, our Building and Industry Segment Manager, said: ‘Vulcathene is the market leader for laboratory chemical drainage, it has a proven reputation within the industry and the Vulcathene brand is widely specified in the UK and aborad. However, as new distribution staff selling the system, or new installers of the products come on board we want to ensure they have the correct knowledge of the system in terms of its multiple applications and breadth of range, along with its reliability compared with alternative options.
“Increasingly more standard HDPE systems are being promoted for ‘Chemical Drainage’, which could potentially be extremely dangerous if installed in applications where a variety of chemical combinations will be emptied into it. That is why it is important for us to ensure customers understand why Vulcathene offers the safest solution and encourage them not to take risks when specifying, selling or installing chemical drainage systems.”
Accessed via the Aliaxis Academy at www.aliaxisacademy.co.uk, the new Vulcathene module is designed as an overview of the system.
