We are celebrating after our newly launched ‘conductive’ pipework system, PLX+, has won the silver prize in the bi-annual Aliaxis Innovation Awards.
Putting innovation at the forefront of its business development, Aliaxis designed the Innovation Awards to recognise those companies within the Aliaxis group that have developed truly innovative solutions. With entries open to more than 100 companies across 45 countries, PLX+ beat off competition from product innovations across the globe to scoop the second prize.
Our PLX+ pipework system was praised by judges for its innovative solution to a genuine market need, while demonstrating tangible benefits for customers and end users. The impressive sales figures since its launch, combined with positive feedback from several international customers, further endorsed the product’s success.
Introduced to meet market demand, where certain major oil companies are stipulating a ‘conductive’ pipe system must be used, our new ‘conductive pipework’ system, PLX+, has been developed to offer specifiers, contractors and end users further flexibility when installing fuel systems for forecourt applications.
PLX+ has been specifically designed with a co-extruded dissipative bore layer to allow any static electricity, that could be generated when fast flowing fuel is being discharged, to pass through the inner layer of the pipe and fittings. Offering an enhanced safety feature, a unique integral conductive connector, provides the reassurance of a continuous dissipative system.
Commenting on the award win, our Infrastructure Segment Manager, James Roper, said: “There are some fantastic innovations being developed within group companies across the world so it is a huge achievement to be recognised with this award and it is testament to five years of research and development by so many different teams within the business.
“We developed PLX+ to meet a genuine market need and the addition of the system into our PLX portfolio means we have opened up new market opportunities. The feedback from customers has been extremely positive and we are seeing enquiries and sales from lots of new customers looking to install a ‘hybrid’ system, combining both our standard non-conductive PLX for product lines with the ‘conductive’ PLX+ pipework for fill lines.”
PLX+ offers all of the benefits of the PLX range, with products comprising a co-extruded protective barrier layer, which can increase permeation resistance against many types of fuel blends ensuring there is no permeation of fuel through the pipe wall into the environment. Offered as either a single wall or a secondary contained system in straight lengths or coils, PLX + is available in sizes 63mm – 110mm for single wall pipe and 63#75 – 110#125 for the secondary contained option.
