Durapipe checks in to Boutique Hotel

Our HTA pipework has been installed to cater for the hot and cold water services at a luxury new hotel in York.

Owned by Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), the Indigo Hotel in York is a new boutique hotel offering 101 individually styled bedrooms designed to offer the ultimate in luxury for guests visiting for business or leisure.

As part of the build project, a reliable pipe system was required for the hot and cold water network. As a result, building services engineering specialists WH Good was tasked with sourcing an effective solution and Durapipe HTA was selected as the preferred system.

The water services within the hotel are tank fed, so Durapipe HTA, in sizes up to 125mm, was installed to convey the mains cold water up to the tank in the loft, the water is then transported to a booster set in the plant room on the ground floor, before being distributed to the riser on each floor of the accommodation.

Offering a reliable solution over the lifetime of the system, Durapipe HTA provided a high performing alternative to copper. Corrosion and limescale resistant, the system retains a smooth bore, ensuring optimum flow rates remain throughout the life of the system.

Commenting on the specification, Steve Austin from WH Good said: “HTA is widely used as a high performance system for hot and cold water services and was the ideal choice for this project. In addition to the advantages for the client, the system also offered us benefits during the installation process and is a system we will look to use on future projects.”
