Our specialist sound attenuated drainage system, Friaphon, has been specified within two new apartment complexes that are part of the major King’s Cross regeneration project.
The King’s Cross regeneration project, which is being delivered by the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership, is one of the biggest regeneration projects in Europe and will transform the area into 8million sq ft of mix used space, hosting a vast array of shops, bars and restaurants, offices, homes, hotels and leisure facilities
The Rubicon Court, Saxon Court and Roseberry Mansions apartments complex is part of the multi-million pound development, comprising of three buildings, which offer modern, high quality and affordable homes. Rubicon Court comprises 117 new homes, while Saxon Court and Roseberry Mansions will showcase a further 143 homes.
Contractor Kylemore was looking for a pipework manufacturer that could provide a drainage system which offers superb sound insulation properties, yet in a cost effective way. Specified in 110mm, the contractor opted to install Friaphon for all soil and rainwater drainage requirements throughout the Rubicon Court, Saxon Court and Roseberry Mansions.
Friaphon is a purpose designed pipework system with a proven track record of delivering outstanding noise reduction results, dramatically minimising drainage noise for the apartments. It is also a lower cost alternative to cast iron as it does not need to be lagged, and combining this with its push fit assembly, makes the installation process quicker and easier – making it the ideal choice for Kylemore and this project.
Director of Kylemore, Michael Quinn, commented: “It is important that in a multi-occupancy building, drainage noise is kept to an absolute minimum, therefore we selected Friaphon to help diminish this for future occupants.
“As with all Durapipe UK products, we found that the pipework system was easy to install and was much more cost effective than other pipework systems on the market”.
