Durapipe SuperFLO is streets ahead for Glasgow students

Durapipe SuperFLO pipework has been installed as part of a new student accommodation project for Glasgow University.

Set in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, Thurso Street is a 405 bed purpose-built property containing a mix of studios and shared flats to house students studying at the city’s university.

Durapipe SuperFLO pipework has been specified by contractors Vallectrics to cater for the cold water services on the development. Selected in sizes up to 110mm, Durapipe SuperFLO has been installed to transport cold water from the main water storage tanks in the basement and then distribute it throughout the building to each individual flat.

Previous users of other types of Durapipe UK pipework systems, Vallectric specified Durapipe SuperFLO due to its reliable proven track record and ease of installation that it provides.

Commenting on the project, Wayne Morgan from Vallectrics said: “We have used Durapipe SuperFLO on previous projects and it has always been quick and easy to install, as well as providing exceptional long-term performance capabilities.

“Easier to install than traditional materials, Durapipe SuperFLO eliminates the need for hot works and combined with its lightweight nature, significantly reduced the overall labour time and cost for us.”

Durapipe SuperFLO is specially designed to cater for chilled or boosted cold water applications within the building services sector and offers many added benefits; the system is completely limescale and corrosion resistant due its smooth inner-bore and offers a 50-year design life.
