Vulcathene makes the grade at top university
20/11/2009
Warwick University has installed Vulcathene, our market-leading chemical drainage system, as part of a refurbishment of its science laboratories.
The leading university is widely acknowledged for its excellence in science and research, through its recognised Centre for Analytic Science. The science laboratories within the centre have undergone a complete refurbishment, which has seen an existing 50 year old glass drainage system being replaced with a complete purpose-designed chemical resistant plumbing system from Vulcathene.

The Vulcathene chemical drainage system in sizes up to 152mm was installed by Arthur Pollard Ltd to safely transport waste laboratory fluids. The previous glass drainage system needed to be replaced to enable the research facility to develop new scientific approaches that the old system could not withstand.
Providing a drainage system that is not suitable to cope with the hazardous chemicals can put safety at risk and could incur costly consequences.
Project manager at Arthur Pollard Ltd, Dave Randall commented: “You cannot compromise on safety in schools and universities so when dealing with chemicals you have to select the best on the market. Vulcathene has a proven performance history in educational establishments where toxic chemicals can be used on a daily basis, assuring us that it is the ideal choice for safe chemical drainage.”

Available in sizes from 38mm – 152mm, Vulcathene is a purpose designed chemical drainage system available in two easy jointing methods; Mechanical for demountable joints and Enfusion for welded joints, offering complete flexibility for designers and installers of chemical waste systems.
